AT&T Lead Benefits Consultant in Dallas, Texas

Job Description:

This position is located in Downtown Dallas, TX and requires office presence a minimum of 3x per week.

As a Lead Benefits Consultant, at AT&T you’ll be a subject matter expert focused on the administration of retirement plan benefits. You'll oversee third-party benefit administrators, ensuring they meet performance standards, comply with benefit plans, and handle changes and issues effectively. You'll also assess and implement new plan designs, manage vendor contracts, and lead projects to update benefits and increase efficiency. With your expertise and knowledge, you’ll analyze plan data, and collaborate with teams inside and outside the organization to refine processes and conduct financial or operational reviews of how well the benefit plans are working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review data ensuring accurate employment events and payroll transactions for pension/401(k) benefits.

  • Support payroll feeds to/from pension/401(k) vendor, including ability to enhance and troubleshoot payroll configurations.

  • Work with AT&T payroll systems (Workday) to manage the flow of employee data from AT&T subsidiaries, departments, and payrolls to external vendors.

  • Facilitate 401(k) funding requests and coordination with 401(k) vendor.

  • Interpret plan documents and manage/analyze large data sets.

  • Evaluate ERISA plan corrections.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in benefit administration, working with qualified retirement plans, pensions, 401(k) plans, Health Savings Accounts, and payroll systems. Workday and third-party benefit administrator experience is a plus.

  • 5+ years experience in project management.

  • Ability to read and interpret benefit plan documents, general knowledge of ERISA, IRC, DOL and other legal or regulatory requirements with a curiosity about data and plan mechanics.

  • Leadership, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills capacity to mediate and effectively communicate across all leadership levels.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguous and complex problems, analyze detailed data, and offering insights, improvements, and alternative business strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to create and deliver presentations to various audiences that tell a compelling story.

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) desired but not required.

  • Actuarial training or accreditation and/or a Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in human resources, MBA, Finance, or Math are desired.

Salary Range:

$105,600.00 - $158,400.00
