Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the Energy/Natural Resources industry, located in DES PLAINES, Illinois. The role involves processing vendor invoices, cash disbursement vouchers, and employee expense reports with meticulous attention to detail and efficiency. This role is critical to maintaining smooth financial operations within our organization.

Responsibilities: • Accurate and efficient processing of vendor invoices, cash disbursement vouchers, and employee expense reports according to established guidelines. • Review, audit, code, and post invoices into the accounting system, including identifying unallowable costs. • Maintain Accounts Payable files and manage various daily, weekly, and monthly A/P related spreadsheets and reports. • Record monthly General Ledger journal entries for account distributions. • Prepare monthly Accounts Payable adjusting entries and year-end Accounts Payable accruals. • Research and resolve monthly vendor statements and invoice discrepancies. • Provide support to project managers, general accounting, purchasing, and Accounts Receivable with Accounts Payable related matters. • Provide year-end audit support to the Finance Department. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role\ • Proficient in Account Analysis • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in business relationships • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff.
