Job Title: Assistant Practice Manager

Salary: £27,000 - £34,000 depending on experience

Location: Blacks Vets, Dudley

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Blacks Vets is an award winning, RCVS accredited multi-site veterinary hospital. With over 100 associates and we are now looking for a Deputy Practice Manager to join the team and support the Practice manager in the smooth day to day running of the business.

Your role

role of the Deputy practice manager is busy and fast paced, and no two days are the same. You will be supported by, and work with, a diverse multi-skilled professional team of clinical and non-clinical associates.   • Responsible, with the support of the Practice manager, for the day to day running of the Blacks Vets, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.

  • Support the Practice Manager with first line HR queries and providing support to other line managers within the business when needed, Including absence management.

  • Assisting with recruitment for a variety of roles

  • Responsible for maintaining Health and safety requirements across all sites working with the Health and Safety champions and the H&S business partner including H&S training for all associates.

  • Overseeing the maintenance calendar and booking jobs as and when required alongside central support

  • Line management for a small team (under 10 associates)

  • Assist the SLT with I.T sets up and logging tickets on our in-house system and escalating when required

  • First line response for client complaints and escalating to the Practice manager when appropriate. Working with the practice manager to complete root cause analysis when needed and implementing solutions to improve client experience.

  • Working in conjunction with the Practice Manager and other members of SLT to develop the business and deliver key KPIs..

  • Supporting the reviewing and updating of practice policies and procedures, implement practice protocols and ensure compliance, identifying opportunities for improvement where appropriate.
