About the role

The Project Management Director is responsible for project management services for our technology consulting client account in McLean, VA and will lead the project management team to achieve strategic business objectives. Current project consists of $70M-$100M build out of existing warehouse space and conversion into SCIF light manufacturing facility.

This job is part of the Project Management function and responsible for the management of projects acting as the owner's representative from initiation through completion. Role offers a hybrid schedule in the McLean, VA area along with up to 20% national travel to other client facilities.

What you’ll do

Direct all phases of the process for clients including procurement, contracting, planning, tracking, and execution, and ensure that contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeouts are accurate, timely, and compliant.

Develop new business growth and maintain existing business relationships.

Maintain full responsibility for the financial performance of market, program, and client accounts.

Identify project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk mitigation and backup plans.

Apply a robust knowledge of multiple subject areas, the business, and key drivers that impact departmental and cross-functional performance

Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.

Identify and address multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.

Significantly improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job field.

Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentor.

Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designation(s) preferred.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and balance problems

  • Leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple department results within a function.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), MS Project or Kahua.

  • Expert interpersonal skills and an advanced inquisitive and growth mindset.
