15 Wing, headquartered in Moose Jaw, is the centre of RCAF aircrew training and is comprised of 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (CFFTS) and 431 Air Demonstration Squadron (CF Snowbirds) both located in Moose Jaw, SK. The Wing is the principal site of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC). 15 Wing is responsible for three different aircraft platforms that include: CT-156 Harvard II, CT-155 Hawk, CT-114 Tutor, and any visiting aircraft.

You will be part of a team that works closely with the military customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality and efficient Air Traffic Management System maintenance, Aeronautical information services and VFR air traffic services to DND's NFTC program. Serco Canada Inc. is looking for a Groundskeeper / Labourer in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The successful individual will be responsible to ensure that all assigned groundskeeping and general labourer work is completed in accordance with SOW or other applicable documents, including but not limited to third party contractual documents.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.76

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform snow removal in accordance with SNIC Plan.

• Perform grass cutting in accordance with Grass Cutting Plan.

• Perform landscape maintenance.

• Assist with repairs to concrete and asphalt surfaces on the Airfield and on Domestic roads.

• Repair/replace signage on Domestic roads and on the Airfield.

• Required to assist Trade Shops.

• Lifting heavy materials/equipment in performance of duties.

• Operating light vehicles as required with proper licensing.

• Operate light vehicles such as 44 Passenger Bus, Taxi and Ambulance (if required).

• Operate specialized equipment such as ride-on lawn mowers, power saws, hedge trimmer, 60LB buster, farm tractor, bobcat loader, snow blower, JLG lift, forklift, turf sweeper, etc.

• Operate communication equipment for Airfield & Domestic operations.

• Dress accordingly, use of PPE as required.

• Provide courteous service to clients.

• Responsible for recording time daily on work orders.

• Required to keep accurate logs for pickup and delivery of passengers and cargo.

• Security clearance required to pick up and deliver mail.

• Keep shop and work areas clean and store equipment in designated areas.

• Required to work at remote locations.

• Clean vehicles for Serco and DND users as required.

• Attend courses as required by management.

• Report all incidents/accidents to the Lead.

• Operate light vehicles as required.

• Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time.

• Visibly demonstrate Serco Values and work practices while completing duties.

• Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.

• Good physical condition to perform groundskeeping and general labourer duties.

• Possession of a valid SK Driver’s License Class 5 is required (Class 3 or higher is an asset).

• Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is required.

• Ability to obtain DND 404 (if required) to operate Government owned vehicles (CFR Plated Equipment).

• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test.

• Must successfully complete and pass a Criminal Record Check (CPIC); Fingerprint Criminal Record Check; Reliability clearance.
