Continental Maintenance Apprentice in New Braunfels, Texas

Join the New Braunfels, TX team for the exciting journey of a new facility start-up (Greenfield). The $110 million facility will manufacture Advanced Driver Assistance Systems for automated and assisted driving.

Basic Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Enrollment in an Associate's Degree program in the area of Advanced Manufacturing

• Interest in a future career in the field of Maintenance at Continental New Braunfels, TX

• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in Advanced Manufacturing Associate's Degree program

• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, in addition to being enrolled as a full-time college student, pursuing a degree in the area of Advanced Manufacturing

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Email)

• Ability to read, write, speak English

• No visa sponsorship is offered for this position

• No relocation is offered for this position

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 lbs. unassisted

• Ability to climb ladders

• Excellent hand/eye/foot coordination

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach for 10+ hours per day

• Ability to bend at waist and perform repetitive foot and hand action for 10+ hours per day

• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment

• Ability to understand mechanics and troubleshooting

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints & electrical schematics in equipment manuals

• Ability to read and interpret electronic and pneumatic schematics

Part time (M/W/F) 8:00am-6:30pm

The Maintenance Apprenticeship program is designed to prepare highly talented, self-motivated individuals for a future maintenance career with Continental. The two year apprenticeship offers Continental employees with the opportunity to earn an Associate’s Degree in Advanced Manufacturing along with the opportunity to experience hands-on maintenance experience and professional development.

This program offers an opportunity to work in an environment that allows learning in a real-world environment through applying education while on-the-job including technical skills such as electricity, robotics, fluid power, mechanics, Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), and industrial troubleshooting. This program also includes manufacturing core exercises such as safety culture, visual workplace organization, lean manufacturing, problem solving, and machine reliability.
