JPMorgan Chase Business Analysis and Reporting Specialist Associate in New York, New York

The Firmwide Economic Scenarios & Analytics (FESA) team within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the development and distribution of macroeconomic scenarios used in the Firm's forecasting processes. FESA is comprised of four sub teams: Firmwide Economic Scenarios (FES), Firmwide Modeling & Analysis (FM&A), Firmwide Analytical Solutions (FAS), and Governance, Controls & Program Management. FES team is centrally responsible for end-to-end scenario design, development, and distribution of macroeconomic forecasts used across the firm as well as keeping senior management, including the CEO and CFO, and investor relations informed on economic outlook. FM&A team leads various analytical efforts and enhancements to forecasting capabilities across the P&A organization, including AI/ML-based solutions. FAS team partners with LOBs to deploy various revenue and balance sheet forecasting analytical solutions. Governance, Controls & Program Management team provides oversight of the overarching scenario design and forecast governance, oversight of the forecast control processes, and project organization across FESA.

As the Associate member in Governance, Controls & Program Management team you will maintain FESA governance and control standards through project organization, transparency, and coordinated efforts internally and across firm. You will be involved in the overall scenario design governance process including planning and execution of forecasting exercises, macroeconomic variable inventory management, SME forums management and prep, as well as manage the overall book of work for FES, FM&A and FAS teams. You will partner closely with global counterparts in the Economics and Strategy Research teams, CFO/Financial Planning & Analysis teams, Risk functions including Model Risk, Risk CFO, and other corporate areas such as Investor Relations and Corporate Technology. You will have active engagement with Firmwide Control Management (FCM) and Audit (internal and external) teams as Governance team is accountable for the completeness, execution and accuracy of the control and audit process. The role will provide the opportunity to develop important analytical and execution skills required to advance in the Firm.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage the macroeconomic forecasting and governance process

  • Develop and maintain executive-level presentations leveraging power point, pitch pro, etc.

  • Liaise with partners in Model Risk, Controls, internal and external audit, P&A functions, etc.

  • Maintain and contribute to the FESA teams' policies, procedures and digital content

  • Manage and drive multiple project workstreams as well as inbound questions, deliverables, and ad-hoc requests, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness of meeting deliverables on prescribed timelines

  • Support ad-hoc analytics

  • Support and further the team's automation and transformation agenda with tech partners

  • Support the controlled risk management and governance process

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 2+ years of work experience in Financial Services

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field

  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Pitch Pro

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong analytical/problem solving skills. Ability to analyze various viewpoints, summarize key concepts, and clearly articulate relevant conclusions

  • Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, articulate complex issues clearly

  • Ability to execute against deliverables and meeting deadlines under pressure

  • Self-starter, with an ability to multitask in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with frequently changing priorities. Ability to quickly switch gears and shift focus as topics and priorities evolve.

  • Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues, and encourages participation

  • Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management

  • Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
