Disney Entertainment Senior Financial Analyst in New York, New York

Disney Streaming Services is a business unit within The Walt Disney Company’s Media & Entertainment Distribution segment that includes all consumer-facing digital video subscription services across the company. Our core mission is to deliver global audiences the freedom to access content on their terms across any connected device, time or location.

This finance role supports our Disney Streaming business globally specializing in the analysis and management of our streaming services’ key subscriber-related metrics and support of monthly and quarterly close processes. It requires a proactive approach with strong financial acumen and analytical skills. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for processes and analyses that include large amounts of data in order to derive succinct conclusions. A successful candidate will be able to independently drive analytical work, confidently navigate an evolving, multifaceted environment and seek opportunities to drive efficient processes and challenge the status quo.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Provide support for the preparation and analysis of subscriber and revenue reporting for Hulu and ESPN+ external reporting

  • Support various month-end and quarter-end close processes for Direct-to-Consumer

  • Preparation of forecast important metric reporting and analysis (subscriber count, subscriber acquisition costs, ARPU, etc).

  • Support ad hoc forecast scenario analyses to research and confirm profitability opportunities.

  • Engage in analyses and requests from broader Finance and Controllership teams

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years meaningful work experience

  • Prior experience in business planning or finance

  • Analytical and financial modeling experience

  • Ability to take ownership of analytical tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work cross functionally, managing many collaborators and building relationships throughout the company

  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented work style

  • Extremely organized with the ability to prioritize activities, manage timelines, and deal optimally with pressure

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • A good understanding of the entertainment industry and Direct-to-Consumer business models

  • Familiarity with working in or with large organizations

  • Education

  • BA/BS (Focus on Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative field a plus

The hiring range for this position in New York is $104,300.00 to $130,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
