Job Description

Lead larger more complex technology deployments in support of the global packaging project objectives. Manages and provides expertise/advice to the complete SLC of technology deployment projects. Applies IT and business knowledge to formulate a solution for a business/client problem. Lead cross-divisional enterprise-wide evaluation of new technology solutions/strategy that pertains to the future-state software packaging strategy. Provides solutions to the functional teams with a global perspective to ensure systems are integrated into the business and other platforms. May have direct supervisor responsibilities. Provides leadership and guidance to team members by conveying business strategies, while striving for measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for initiation, planning, and execution of IME global packaging projects and programs.

  • Define business requirements for large more complex technology deployments; translate requirements into appropriate IT solutions.

  • Develop Project Charter, project plans, project work plan (WBS), communication plan, training plan current and future process maps, and all other project deliverables determined by management.

  • Communicate project progress to all appropriate stakeholders. Also, provide project status reports for all active technology deployment projects semi-monthly. Prepares, assists in development, and may conduct client training. Complete projects/ tasks within time and budget constraints. Document and mitigate technology deployment project issues and risks.

  • Effectively monitor and control project scope and budget. Escalate when appropriate to management. Identifies and implements process improvements.

  • Determines technology deployment project requirements, objectives, and scope of project work plan and other required project deliverables. Monitor and control projects.

  • Demonstrated expertise across a wide range of packaging system operations including Serialization, Aggregation, OEE optimization, equipment obsolescence, and data integrity.

  • Adapt the work schedule to support the business operations. This includes maintenance works, replacements, upgrades, migrations, and other changes to systems in production during off-peak hours. This might require working overtime, overnight or on weekends and holidays, and being on call during the off hours to attend to any emergency or critical problem that may arise with the systems in the area of responsibility.

  • Work may be required inside a pharmaceutical products manufacturing facility that requires special restriction conditions. Systems used to support business operations must be supported 7 days a week and 24 hours a day continuously.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience, PhD 2 years’ experience in business information systems, or a discipline closely related to the client area served.

  • Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as his/her role in achieving those objectives and modify the approach when required. Escalates open issues to ensure execution success and keeps stakeholders informed through effective verbal and written communication.

  • Learn, understand, and master new methods and technologies, and act as a resource or mentor for others.

  • Effectively organize and present project objectives and progress. Contribute to technical publications and presentations.

  • Maintains relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, and vendors following AbbVie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision, and goals of the organization.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
