Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer in Northern California to support a large Engineering Firm. As a Geotechnical Engineer, youll play a crucial role in analyzing soil, rock, groundwater, and other earth materials before major construction projects. Your expertise will help determine suitable materials for foundations, overall design, and safety measures. Lets delve into the specifics:

Responsibilities

1. Site Investigation and Data Collection:

Gather data through boreholes, test pits, and field tests.

Analyze findings using specialized software.

2. Risk Assessment:

Evaluate geological hazards and identify factors affecting engineering works.

Ensure proper risk management.

3. Design and Advice:

Plan and design structures for buildings, roads, embankments, canals, and other projects.

Provide advice to civil engineers, structural engineers, architects, and construction personnel.

4. Technical Leadership:

Lead complex projects with strong analytical skills.

Specialize in soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, deep foundation design, soil improvement techniques, and pavement design.

5. Client Interaction:

Develop and maintain client relationships.

Participate in proposal preparation, project scheduling, and deadline management.

6. Team Development:

Mentor junior staff.

Direct multi-functional teams.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum 7+ years in geotechnical engineering.

Proven experience in technical or project management roles within a professional services firm.

PE or PG (Professional Engineer) in California or the ability to obtain within 4 months null
