SUNY Upstate Medical University Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-Complex Wound Management in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Advance Practice Provider will serve as a full-time provider at Upstate University Hospital Downtown and Community Campus, The provider will be responsible for management of acute and chronic complex wounds, including by not limited to: pressure injuries, vascular, neuropathic, & atypical wounds. The APP will work in collaboration with the primary team. Responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services, and maintaining outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians & all members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire).

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Inpatient, wound care experience preferred

Work Days:

Monday-Friday Days, with Rotation to Weekends & Holidays
