Responsibilities

As a Cook, you'll prepare food such as main entrees, soups and sauces in a commercial healthcare kitchen. You'll use basic and advanced cooking techniques to prepare delicious and nutritious meals for our patients, our guests and staff.

What We are looking for:

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Great interpersonal & conversational skills, teamwork-oriented, detailed focus

  • Technically skilled & organized culinarians for short order and prep/production cooking in a restaurant-like environment.

  • Ability to follow established scratch cooking recipes

  • Proficiency with commercial kitchen equipment use and cleaning

  • Catering knowledge helpful

  • Ability to learn therapeutic diets

  • Basic computer knowledge (e.g. email, etc.)

  • Knowledge of on-line food ordering, inventory systems/processes preferred

  • Two years of progressively responsible related work experience in the fast-food, restaurant, hospitality or other culinary environment or venue that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.

  • Vocational training courses in large-quantity cooking is strongly preferred

Qualifications

Training and development will be provided to expand your knowledge/proficiency of therapeutic diets.

Restaurant professionals are encouraged to apply, no prior health care experience required.

Successful completion of Washington State Food Worker Card (FWC) is required prior to employment.

Minimum of 2 years of experience required.

Successful completion of ServSafe Advanced Food Safety Certification (required within 90 days of date of hire).

Pay Range

$20.15 - $29.63 /hour
