Albany Technical College Director of Information Technology in Albany, Georgia

[Albany Technical College seeks a full-time Director of Information Technology. He/she [will report to the Vice President of Administration and is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing technology support services. The Director of IT will direct the provision and operation of data capture, network infrastructure, e-mail, SIS, CRM, VOIP systems, end user computers, file shares, print servers, and database management systems. He/she provides direction and oversight for information security of all data maintained in electronic format. The Director of Information Technology must be actively engaged in all aspects of the position as Director of IT. He/she must have the ability to support a multidiscipline organization of staff, faculty, and students and have the ability to manage and direct the IT infrastructure and team to fully support stakeholders. [Duties will include training, assigning, directing, supervising, and evaluating the work of Technology Support personnel, providing project management as needed to resolve significant problems with the information systems, ensuring that all computer hardware, peripherals, and other equipment necessary for the administrative and academic needs of the colleges are identified, investigated, acquired, inventoried and maintained. He/she will direct the provision of network infrastructure, email systems, database systems, server computers, end user computers, telephone systems, file shares, and print servers. He/she will provide direction and oversight for information security of all data maintained in electronic format,plan staff development training and activities,and manage and oversee financial/budget operation of the department. The Director of IT will prepare a Technology Plan for the College and maintain as a working document to monitor against IT initiatives. He/she will monitor personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures,develop and/or assist with the development of policy and procedures and recommend changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program, evaluate employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information, conduct regular evaluation of services provided and make adjustments as needed. He/she will maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives andother duties as assigned. [He/she should have good oral and written communication skills.
