Job Description
Responsibilities:
Data Strategy
Understands how to approach complex problems by outlining several ways to approach the challenges, is able to structure the approach from a cost / benefit perspective and confidently guide a team through execution
Considered a "thought leader" within the Data team for strategic insight and ability to apply insights to multiple client situations (core client work, BD, etc.)
Considered an SME in at least one specific area (skill, tool, or channel) and can train other team members in this area
Begins to understand how to drive necessary alignment within client organizations to elevate overall business strategy
Communication Skills
Effectively able to guide strategy, resolve issues, and identify new opportunities through constructive dialogue with internal and client teams
Commands client audiences via different presentation styles as appropriate vs. sticking to a script
Shows leadership in work sessions and meetings while building confidence among junior team members to participate in idea generation and discussion
Respects others' opinions and takes feedback into deliverables constructively
Fully able to organize and prepare well written documents independently, and guides the team in doing the same
Uses clear, concise writing to connect key insights together and communicate an effective story that illustrates key learnings
Ability to either condense and simplify or detail out the specifics, depending upon the audience
Client Engagement
Is a clear advisor to day-to-day internal and external clients
Sought out by clients for progressive opinions and project recommendations
Proactively keeps the client 'in the loop' on industry trends and recommends projects based on those trends
Able to lead, with guidance, the development of medium-sized client strategic agenda
Understands how to document and respond to client feedback and recognizes when to escalate issues or push back on a client
Proactively brings client ideas for leveraging broader capabilities
Proactively engages client team to inform them of industry and client- specific strategic issues
Is sought out by client team as the go-to expert on industry and client- specific strategic issues
Tools & Techniques
Recommends and understands various applicable data tools and platforms to address and identify both internal and external strategic needs
Understands needs and applications of advanced analytical methods and works with Data Science / Engineering / Instrumentation SMEs to ensure projects are planned and executed correctly
Identifies and evaluates potential vendors and socializes vendors within our capability
Analytics Planning and Implementation
Proposes and develops a roadmap for data maturity, grounded with a strong understanding of how technology investments can be leveraged used to achieve data sophistication
Able to lead cross-capability initiatives effectively
Able to synthesize how to measure performance in an increasingly noisy environment
Insight Generation
Able to integrate long-term implications of insights and recommendations across several channels
Ensures that the team maintains high analytical output, including, but not limited to, distribution of reporting or advanced analytics work that drives towards a specific business goal
Qualifications
8+ years of previous experience in a marketing analytics or business intelligence role, including experience managing direct reports.
Hands-on experience or working knowledge of data visualization and analytic dashboard development with Tableau (preferred), Domo, Power BI, Shiny, Looker, or other platforms.
Hands-on experience or working knowledge of SQL, R, SAS, SPSS, or any other advanced analytics software, tools or languages.
Hands on-experience with site analytics suites, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics/SiteCatalyst.
Excellent communicator & collaborator between multiple client and internal teams.
Willingness to dive in and conduct analyses across various data sources to find insights and provide actionable recommendations to client and internal teams.
Ability to lead a team of analysts to construct, execute, and analyze measurement plans.

Compensation Range: $130,000 - $219,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
