Director of Talent Acquisition
The ideal candidate will have experience as a multi-market Senior Manager or Director of Recruiting, leading teams of Managers and Recruiting staff of 10+ (directly or indirectly) within a professional services or staffing agency.
As a Director of Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to attract, develop and retain the best talent available and to position North Highland as an “Employer of Choice” for our Management Consulting Practice in the U.S. as well as drive the strategic and operational effectiveness of our Sourcing Operations team in Johannesburg, South Africa. You will design and execute recruiting strategies based on current and projected business needs. These strategies include traditional and non-traditional recruiting methods and involve identifying differences in the markets so that a variety of approaches can be utilized and recruiting goals can be met. The success of these strategies is dependent upon the partnership between you and your business leaders and will rely on a regular exchange of information and feedback.
This role partners closely with the Head of Global Talent Acquisition to develop and implement strategies required to meet our talent needs at the portfolio, capability, or client level. As a trusted advisor, you serve as a champion for workplace excellence, collaborating closely with the entire Talent Acquisition team to ensure that recruiting solutions are planned and executed. In addition, this role will provide leadership for the Management Consulting team and drive the development of employees in order to improve individual, function, and overall company performance.
This role reports to the Head of Global Talent Acquisition and oversees the successful performance of a team of direct reports such as a Recruiting Manager(s), Recruiting Lead(s), Recruiter(s), and/or Coordinators. You are ultimately responsible for ensuring that full-cycle recruiting goals are met and that internal and external clients are treated with the highest level of customer service.
Deliver recruiting solutions with a team of Management Consulting recruiters dedicated to bringing experienced consulting talent (Sr. Consultants to Executives) to North Highland through direct recruiting methods
Work with the Academy Recruiting team to delivery consistent results for the continued growth efforts of the North Highland Academy
Collaborate with Specialty Recruiting team to understand the dynamics of Specialty Recruiting at North Highland and provide support as needed for the delivery of strategic recruiting solutions in these areas
Alignment with North Highland Executives to gain a detailed understanding of organizational goals and needs and supporting initiatives through quality hiring for a region, market or client
Create initiatives to build a sophisticated retention strategy, focusing on promoting North Highland’s culture, reinforcing the company’s leadership position and supporting the firm’s vision to create the Most Enviable Culture
Providing strategic recruiting expertise by staying abreast of recruiting trends, best practices, social media, recruitment tools, legal developments, technological advancements and benchmark comparisons
Educating hiring managers on recruitment best practices and procedures to drive operational excellence and ensure compliance with both government requirements for federal contractors and internal policies and procedures
Ensuring a solid process of providing and maintaining a pipeline of qualified talent and a smooth interview and hiring process with the candidate experience in mind
Manage a recruiting team of pipeline-building, recruiting and onboarding professionals to internal SLA’s on time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, submission activity and hit rate
Track workforce planning, staffing patterns and turnover data to analyze the effectiveness of recruiting practices
Ensuring data integrity for self and team within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
10+ years of progressive recruiting experience of which at least 7 years have been spent in a management capacity driving and overseeing the success of a full lifecycle recruiting team where metrics and performance were measured for success
Previous experience recruiting for a management consulting, advisory or professional services firm
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
Proven record managing senior level relationships and the ability to build favorable outcomes across functional and organizational lines
Advanced people management/leadership skills demonstrating an ability to attract, lead, coach, mentor and develop employees some of which are virtual or based in other geographical locations
Advanced reporting and analysis capabilities specific to performance metrics and compliance
Proficiency in using various applicant tracking systems, social media, job boards, recruitment tools, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other productivity and recruiting tools
Exceptional interpersonal skills including poise, tact and diplomacy. Consistently portray a high level of customer service and the ability to influence as a true leader at all levels of the organization
Above-average written and verbal communication skills
Must be flexible, adapt easily and be motivated by constant change and process improvement initiatives
Proven ability implementing change within an organization, ensuring understanding, participation and ownership and the ability to reprioritize work as necessary
Acute attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
