Duties

Function as a technical specialist to support multiple projects in LNG (liquified natural gas), FLNG (floating liquified natural gas), gas processing, fertilizers and water/wastewater. Prepare a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables including technical specifications for instrumentation, distributed control systems (DCS) Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and fire and gas detection systems, control system input/output lists software configuration database, control loop descriptions, control system network architecture drawings and cause and effect diagrams. Develop and implement SCADA and plant control systems along with managing the programming development for the system. Support testing, startup and commissioning of control systems using well defined procedures. Perform all aspects of conventional design engineering and analysis. Review supplier engineering documents and drawings for mechanical equipment packages related to instrumentation and control systems. Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work. Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles; understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Broaden knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. Expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas. Continue to learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures and apply to assigned tasks as appropriate. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Support technical bid evaluation and vendor selection. Review and markup piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Recognize, define, and resolve problems within assigned area. Provide direction and guidance to others. Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal/external team members on less complex projects. Initiate contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work. Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership. Apply an understanding of client interests and drivers to their own behavior and performance of the work under her responsibility. Provide support to business development or pursuit activities. Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline, plus at least three years of related experience. Must have experience in design and programming of PLC/HMI-based industrial control systems for industries including material handling, mining, electric or water utilities. PLC software experience must include Allen Bradley RSLogix, Studio 5000, or similar. HMI software experience must include AVEVA System Platform/Wonderware, Rockwell Factorytalk, Indusoft, or similar. Must have experience with physical design for OT Network (servers, workstations, switches, routers, and firewalls). Must have experience integrating devices and systems using industrial plant network protocols including Ethernet, Serial or similar. Must have experience preparing network diagrams, control schematics, control panel drawings, input/output lists, technical requirements, operating procedures, and bill of materials for industrial control systems. Must have experience in Testing, startup and troubleshooting of control systems following well-defined procedures. Must have experience in supporting continuous improvement for quality control and programming execution. Must have experience coordinating with contractors and other engineering firms. Telecommuting is permissible within a reasonable commuting distance from the Atlanta, GA office. National travel required up to 10%. Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
