KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Practice Operations to join our Tax organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare agendas and lead/co-lead Monday morning virtual team meetings in local offices as needed, including working with resource management to document team availability and monitor weekly forecasted-to-actual variances; work with SL COS, F&A and CEBs to analyze relevant practice metrics to ensure business objectives are met including monitoring of PPMD unbilled and stale AR

  • Create practice communications at the direction of leadership or Director/Associate Director of operations to support efficient change management initiatives; plan quarterly team events and/or monthly PPMD meetings for various local offices and assist with execution of action items; host formal and informal check-in with team members and assist leaders by facilitating team building initiatives

  • Oversee people matters such as monitor training plans/approvals/attendance/expenses/CPE non-compliance, local office new hire orientation, staffing, and more; assist with maintaining promotion pipeline; assist PMDs and PMLs by facilitating action on unique performance development matters; maintain records of needs, openings, and acceptances teaming with COS and tax talent; identify important recruiting events and ensure team members are participating; support planning recruiting events as needed

  • Liaise with national practice leaders to identify operational best practices and implement on a local and/or area wide basis; plan periodic PPMD meetings with FDD (advisory) and BTS to facilitate better collaboration and cross-functional go to market efforts; help with target company research and proposal development

  • Contribute to the creation of and execute coordinated tactical action plans of the infrastructure/operational functions supporting the M&A Tax practice, based on changing business needs, objectives, and strategies

  • Participate in practice-wide strategic initiatives or projects as assigned by M&A Tax national leadership and/or COS; work with M&A L&D lead to develop a training calendar and maintain it on a go forward basis

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent experience in one or more business related areas including finance, accounting, human resources, resource management, marketing or general business operations, preferably within a professional services environment

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in business administration, finance, human resources, other related field

  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance to executive level management across all practice operational areas

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; basic knowledge or experience with Customer Relationship Databases and Resource Management/scheduling tools; experience with Salesforce is preferred

  • Excellent written/verbal communication, analytical, problem identification and resolution skills; organized and deadline oriented

  • Experience with project management a plus
