NICE-CEA is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join our DataOps team. As an industry leader in big data and enterprise analytics, our platforms capture, analyze, and create insight from unstructured interactions. As a member of the DataOps team, you'll contribute to the mission to Make Data Easier for internal and customer audiences by designing, implementing, and managing the data infrastructure for these platforms.

Who You Are:

A curious and adaptable individual with a strong analytic mindset, excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of data engineering and database technologies. You are well versed in data governance, data warehousing and performance tuning, you work well in a collaborative environment with team members of all backgrounds and skillsets and you're not afraid to try something new.

What You'll Do: Lead the DataOps team in building and maintaining big data infrastructure and data warehousing with an emphasis on efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval. Be the go-to person for helping with ETL methodologies, pipeline performance issues, data modeling approaches, and overall best practices within the data warehouse. Guide the technical requirements for constructing curated data models which will be used by data consumers to address business and operational questions today and in the future, ensuring the data model is extensible and flexible. Provide guidance and technical expertise in data engineering, data governance, performance tuning and data privacy and compliance across the CEA organization. Utilize version control for maintaining codebase integrity and collaboration. Conduct code reviews with team members to promote adherence to query best-practices and efficiency.

What you definitely have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field Extensive experience in data warehouse design and implementations Strong proficiency in data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and data integration techniques. Proficiency in SQL Server performance tuning and optimization techniques, including a deep understanding of execution plans. Hands-on experience with SQL Server monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Design, implement and maintain highly available and scalable SQL Server database solutions. Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and powershell. Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure,or GCP, and their respective data integration services Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data integration challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders. Ability to plan, estimate and accurately track deliverables.

What experience we'd also love to see: A passion for mentorship of team members to promote skill growth and expertise. Experience with PowerBI or Tableau data lake structures for the purposes of data visualization Experience working with customers to optimize their own data warehousing and data integration processes.
