Position Summary

Morehouse School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a key team member as Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager will serve as a strategic partner with the various centers and institutes to support and facilitate the development activity of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Research Enterprise and initiatives.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

  • Develop and maintain winning strategies that attract, cultivate, and steward individuals, foundations, and corporations in support of institutional Clinical and Innovation initiatives.

  • Work in close collaboration with Prospect Research Manager to identify key local, regional, and national foundation and corporate funding sources; develop a strategic annual plan for solicitations; prioritize projects and manage timelines.

  • Write proposals seeking gifts and grants for institution priorities from individuals, private foundations, corporate foundations, and corporations.

  • Effectively manage and develop relationships with key foundation and corporate contacts through personal visits and other appropriate communications.

  • Development and writing experience required. Knowledge of the range of resources available to development researchers, including tools and vendors, desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

  • Skill set must include a variety of competencies, including investigative and problem-solving skills, teamwork, analytical thinking, and client/customer awareness.

  • Must possess the ability to assess the value of and synthesize large volumes of information into coherent, well-written documents and work with changing priorities and multiple projects.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including a high level of attention to detail and active listening skills, required.

  • Must be able to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and work independently in a dynamic team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with a diverse group of administrators and academic leaders.

  • Must be able to negotiate issues, resolve problems and have strong influencing skills.

Immunization Requirements

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
