Position Summary

Key participant of the monthly financial close process. Responsible for accounting and recordkeeping of employee bonus compensation. Responsible for review of quarterly tax filing with ADP and annual tax filing/W2 preparation as well as provide support and resolution to Crawford employees regarding their tax withholding and/or W2 reporting issues. Will liaise with various levels of finance team, as well as legal team, internal and external auditors. Collaborates with other team members to support development and create team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with state unemployment and local tax agency account setup, as well as strong familiarity with all aspects of W2s. Will coordinate reporting internally and with external vendors to ensure timely W2 submissions and proper payroll tax reporting to ADP. Will research all balance tax transactions with ADP and submit monthly/quarterly files to ADP.

  • Prepare various journals for month end closing process

  • Perform account reconciliations for various general ledger accounts

  • Clear cash deposits from suspense ensuring coding is reasonable

  • Prepare monthly closing schedule and coordinate with respective parties

  • Perform analysis and prepare schedules for auditors

  • Document and maintain processes and related SOX documentation

  • Compile analyses and ad hoc reports for management as necessary

  • Provide accounting oversight of deliverables from offshore processing center to ensure accuracy (processes may include fixed assets, capitalized software, etc.)

  • Interact with Finance and Operations Management to explain processes and reply to inquiries

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a business-related degree with a concentration in accounting

  • Must possess at least 5+ years in corporate finance, payroll, or public accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills; attention to details.

  • Proficiency in Excel

  • Experience with a large ERP, specifically PeopleSoft, a plus

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
