Ankura Senior Director, Life Sciences Valuation (Fair Market Value & Bona Fide Services) in Atlanta, Georgia

Ankura’s Transaction Advisory Services (“TAS”) Practice is searching for a talented individual with valuation experience in the life sciences industry to join our team. This exciting position will focus on supportable valuation analyses to be used for regulatory compliance and government pricing purposes. The position has tremendous growth potential with one of the leading professional services firms in the United States.

As a key member of our TAS life sciences sector, you will be working with practice leadership to provide exemplary valuation services to a wide variety of life sciences clients. You will be joining a team of industry experts with specialized expertise in valuing bona fide services, data licensing arrangements, healthcare professional consulting services, and other services provided to our clients by their customers.

The desired candidate will be located in Atlanta, GA. This role will be hybrid, with approximately two days per week in the office. Remote locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

As a Director / Senior Director, you can expect to:

  • Be a key contributor to project delivery teams.

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations.

  • Contribute meaningfully to various practice development efforts, such as generation of thought leadership.

    Key Components of the Role will Include:

    Technical Expertise : Previous or current valuation experience at a public accounting firm, mid- to large-sized consulting firm, or life sciences company (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, medical technology, or diagnostics). Specific technical expertise needed includes performing valuation analyses of services provided to life sciences companies by various channel partners (wholesale distributors, specialty pharmacies, 3PLs, etc.); developing fair market value rates for services provided by third-party healthcare professionals; determining fair market value for data licensing rights; and valuing other services provided to life sciences companies by their customers.

    A working knowledge of the life sciences industry including distribution methods, applicable laws, regulations, and trends is required. These include: The Federal False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback statute; CMS and Veteran’s Administration regulations regarding pharmaceutical price reporting, including bona fide service fees; and compliance guidance on payments to healthcare professionals.

    Client Service Experience : A proven track record in delivering exceptional and effective service across a broad spectrum of advisory projects is essential. This individual has experience managing multiple engagements and is effective at communicating with client executives and professionals at all working levels.

    Talent Development : Experience coaching and mentoring talent to help the team grow professionally (regardless of position) is preferred. Participating in recruiting new talent will also be expected.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or other related field required or equivalent experience.

  • Direct experience performing valuation engagements for life sciences companies.

  • While there will be limited travel, you must have the ability to travel depending upon client demand.
