JOB DESCRIPTION

A Principal Storage Architect is a multi-talented information technology professional and accomplished storage infrastructure expert that will contribute to a dynamic, infrastructure design team making a difference. The Principal Storage Architect core objectives include designing modern data storage solutions while ensuring 24x7x365 data availability for a leading semiconductor company of intelligent power and sensing technologies.

The role requires versatility along with initiative. The ideal candidate will have extensive storage infrastructure design/engineering expertise, know how to think “outside-the-box”, and will be responsible for the architecture of critical corporate, engineering and manufacturing data storage. The Principal Storage Architect will work closely with other architects, infrastructure team members, application developers, and business stakeholders. Adhering to industry best practices to support onsemi’s business objectives and user community experience is of utmost importance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Storage management subject matter expert

• Minumum of 20 years’ progressive information technology experience

• Minumum of 15 years’ storage mangement experience with at least 10 years’ experience designing and engineering storage solutions in an enterprise environment

• Extensive experience with NFS, SMB, FC, FCoE, and NVMe protocols and a good understanding of transport layers

• Expertise architecting enterprise storage solutions with NetApp, Hitachi, HPE, or Dell/EMC SAN and NAS products

• Experience with containerized storage solutions (e.g. Kubernetes)

• Experience with object storage for cloud (Quantum ActiveScale, Qumulo, Hitachi Vantara HCP, Pure Storage FlashBlade, etc.)

• Experience with public cloud storage (Azure Blobs, Files, Queues, Tables, and Disks; AWS EBS, S3, FSx, etc.)

• Experience with software defined storage solutions (GlusterFS, Vantara, Ceph, etc.)

• Solid Linux and/or Windows system administration competency

• Extremely self-motivated professional who is committed to success, quickly adapting to change, and maintaining composure in high-pressured environments
