Amazon Sr. Manager Program Management, APAC PMO and Strategy, SLP Asia-Pacific in Bangalore, India

Description

Our operations network requires an experienced business professional who wants to lead our Project Management Office and Strategy Team as a Senior Manager, for APAC. In this key role, you will lead the regional PMO & Strategy team and drive projects, programs and key business reporting mechanisms that focus on standardising and optimising Security and Loss Prevention processes across India, China, Japan, Singapore and Australia (including external business units, where required).

Key job responsibilities

Communication Management:

• Develop and implement communication strategies to ensure effective dissemination of project updates, milestones, and key information to stakeholders.

• Facilitate regular meetings, status updates, and reporting mechanisms to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

• Serve as a liaison between global and regional project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership to address concerns, provide updates, and mitigate risks.

Project Tracking and Monitoring:

• Establish robust project tracking mechanisms, including dashboards, metrics, and reporting tools to monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and ensure timely delivery.

• Implement best practices for project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to optimize project performance and outcomes.

• Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess project health, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Change Management:

• Develop and execute change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions, minimize resistance, and maximize adoption of project initiatives.

• Collaborate with project teams to identify potential impacts of change, assess stakeholder readiness, and develop communication and training plans to support successful change implementation.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management activities, solicit feedback, and adjust strategies accordingly.

Personnel Management:

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to PMO team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support cross-functional collaboration and alignment of project objectives.

Run the Business Initiatives and Strategy:

• Align PMO initiatives and processes with business goals, ensuring that projects contribute to the organization’s long-term growth and profitability.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the impact of initiatives and make data-driven decisions.

A day in the life

You will be responsible for setting the team’s project and program management direction and you will be accountable for the performance of the regional PMO team, supporting the Security and Loss Prevention team in APAC. You will use your knowledge and expertise to coach and manage your team to remove blockers. Your team manages projects and programs that have a strong emphasis on standardising, optimising, and automating processes; however, you will take ownership when problems become highly complex and will own the technical projects workstream. You manage the planning of recruiting, where relevant, as well as frugal deployment of resources.

About the team

Working in partnership with our stakeholders, Security and Loss Prevention secures the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promotes security during business conversations. The PMO and Strategy team is a support function to Security and Loss Prevention and leads with project management standards, are responsible for driving projects, and manage programs and business support mechanisms that support organizational growth and structure. The team manages projects that ensure operational standardization in the field and drives projects and programs that optimize and automate processes, enabling Security and Loss Prevention to work smarter and more agile.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 5+ years of team management experience

  • 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
