Retail Business Analyst Petsense

Overall Job Summary

The Petsense Business Analyst is responsible for weekly business analysis, special projects, developing and driving processes, and assistance in maintaining the multi-year strategic roadmap. There will be significant interaction with merchandising and marketing functions to assist in reaching financial goals.

This position will exhibit fluency in department and category level reporting and analysis, serving as a systems expert in PowerBI, Business Objects, and other relevant tools – all with the goal of producing business solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

• Develop analyses based upon strategic business questions and topics, such as but not limited to selling patterns, economic and customer trends, category analysis, promotional effectiveness, space productivity

• Serve as systems power user and master data manager for brand. Develop and maintain training materials in relevant systems (Business Objects, SAP, PowerBI, etc.)

• Analyzing and determining the impact to sales/margin of promotional activity

• Provide analysis and propose new opportunities to Petsense Leadership

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members as a process leader and problem solver for Playbook Initiatives

• Develop consistent reporting for metrics pertaining to multi-year strategic roadmap.

• Develop ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 3 – 5 years’ experience in Retail Analytics or related business.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Finance or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

• Extensive experience with business reporting tools (Business Objects, SAP, PowerBI, etc.)

• Proficient in MS Office Suite

• Strong problem solving, communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills

• Retail Experience preferred

• Presentation Skills and cross functional team interaction.

• Work within critical deadlines and completing task with a sense of urgency

• Detail oriented
