Ecumen Resident Assistant Coach in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota

Description The Resident Assistant Coach is responsible for providing personal care and delegated health-related services designed to maintain the resident's physical and emotional well-being, following the service schedule for each resident and correctly documenting services provided. This position encourages, advises and guides new team members during the first 90 days to help them adjust to the workplace culture and ensures all new hires complete the orientation training to support a culture of retention. Acts as coach for all team members in the absence or in support of the Leadership Team. Assists with treatments and activities of daily living as delegated by the Clinical Director per individualized care plan, including but not limited to: o Dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, ambulation, transferring; o Assists with AM and HS cares including oral care as needed; o Incontinence care; o Assistive devices, glasses and hearing aids; o Medication administration as delegated by the RN 2. Observes, documents and reports changes in physical, cognitive and emotional condition of any of the residents. 3. Promotes independence, offering choices and fostering self-help skills. 4. Leads and assists with activities, as assigned. 5. Coaches and supports all Resident Assistants modeling Ecumen's vision, mission, and culture. 6. Sets an example and provides on the spot and ongoing feedback to team members. 7. Provides 1 on 1 coaching for new team members including 10/30/60/90 day reviews and completes required documentation. 8. Provides feedback on new team members to Resident Services Coordinator and Clinical Director to ensure readiness for competency evaluation and independent work. 9. Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all employees within the community as directed by the Clinical Director/Manager or Registered Nurse. 10. Responds appropriately to all safety hazards, call lights, requests and reassignment of duties. 11. Other duties as assigned. Resident Assistant Coach Minimum Required Qualifications: * Minimum age of 17 * 6 months experience in current Ecumen role * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing * Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications: * High school diploma, GED or Higher * Prior experience with working with seniors * Certified Nursing Assistant CNA and/or Home Health Aide Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
