M&T Bank Project Manager III - Credit Risk Management (Hybrid - Buffalo, NY) in Buffalo, New York

Overview:

Manages high priority projects within Credit Risk Management, or complex projects affecting multiple businesses or functional areas.

Manages changes to project scope, schedule and costs using appropriate verification techniques to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized project changes. Prepare professional reporting (e.g. PowerPoint) for various levels of management, including Governance Committees and Executive Management.

Supports the Credit Risk Management Program Office execution of responsibilities which included management of systems processes and reporting (Archer eGRC system), preparing professional PowerPoint Governance Committee Reporting and other ad hoc requests.

Supports the department with ad hoc needs and requests.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct high priority projects in Credit Risk Management or complex projects affective multiple businesses or functional areas, often requiring considerable resources and high levels of functional integration from initiation to close.Ensure familiarity with scope and project objectives and establish clear roles and responsibilities for project team members.Projects may be of a technical and/or non-technical nature or involve consultants where onboarding and ongoing project management coordination would be necessary.

  • Develop Project Plan, forecast and schedule.Work with stakeholders to record detailed project requirements, constraints and assumptions to establish project deliverables.

  • Communicate project plans to affected parties to ensure a common understanding, set expectations and align stakeholders and project team members.

  • Ensure execution of tasks defined in the project plan to achieve the project goals.Execute all parts of the project plan and manage the budget/forecast.Monitor and control project work including change controls.

  • Prepare professional reporting (e.g PowerPoint) for various audiences including Governance Committee and Executive Mangagement.

  • Measure project performance utilizing appropriate tools and techniques to monitor progress; identify and quantify variances, complete any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders. Ensure issues and risks are escalated and resolved timely.

  • Implement approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events.

  • Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and responsibility of each team member, to effectively coordinate team activities.

  • Supports the Credit Risk Management Program Office execution of responsibilities which included management of systems processes and reporting (Archer eGRC system), preparing professional PowerPoint Governance Committee Reporting and other ad hoc requests.

  • Supports the department with ad hoc needs and requests.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:

Contributes to technical/professional direction for a discipline

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ proven project management experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ project management experience.

Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages.

Ideal Qualifications:

Previous Commercial Credit/lending experience or relevant financial services industry experience

Risk Management foundational knowledge

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
