University of Virginia Open Rank Transplant Surgeon, Kidney Transplant Surgical Director in Charlottesville, Virginia

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seeks candidates for an Associate Professor or full Professor, open track, as Surgical Director of the Kidney Transplant program. Rank and tenure status will be dependent upon qualifications. Qualified applicants must have demonstrated strong leadership, team-building and interpersonal skills. The incumbent will lead and develop a busy and growing kidney transplant program, provide clinical and surgical care relevant to the kidney transplant population, actively participate in the teaching program with students, residents and fellows, as well as develop innovation and research.

The transplant program at the University of Virginia is the only comprehensive transplant center in Virginia. It is a growing program with solid organ transplant volumes over 350 annually; 175-200 being renal transplants. We offer deceased and living donor programs and robotic surgical options. We are in the process of becoming a donor hospital for the region.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, relevant transplant surgery fellowship training and experience, and certification from the American Board of Surgery.
