Get started! Requisition Summary PACCAR is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager to join a strong and growing Purchasing (Stampings & Fabrications) team. In this role, one will negotiate and manage all aspects of PACCAR's relationship with suppliers, including the commercial/contractual requirements with respect to total cost, technology, delivery, customer service, aftermarket support, logistics and quality. Commodity Managers are change agents, focused on delivering the highest value to internal and external customers at the lowest total cost. A successful candidatewill demonstrateoutstanding time management, organizational skills, and the ability to run multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. This role is based out of the PACCAR Corporate Office (in either Bellevue, WA or Lewisville, TX). Job Functions / Responsibilities Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality. Investigate, evaluate, and implement new technologies, strategic procurement strategies, and logistical opportunities. Negotiate and ensure supplier compliance to long-term supply and warranty agreements. Issue formal Requests for Information, Proposals and Quotes (RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs) and analyze responses to select suppliers that meet or exceed PACCAR requirements. Collaborate with PACCAR operations worldwide to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and commodity strategies. Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel at all management levels. Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities, capacity, assess production readiness, investigate new opportunities, improve manufacturing efficiencies and resolve chronic supply and quality issues. Travel to PACCAR's operating locations in support of the above activities Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 5 years of purchasing, supply chain, or materials experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form to various levels of management and suppliers. Possess a strong understanding of fundamental contract terms and be able to draft supply contracts. Experience with sourcing to support new product development. Ability to successfully manage supplier through all phases of a product development program. Strong writing and project management skills. Ability to perform advanced analysis on large data sets, draw salient conclusions from such analysis, and cogently present analysis to management. Possess an understanding of cost drivers and how changes in those drivers affect cost + an ability to conceptualize and implement cost savings projects. Ability to direct oneself and act with minimal supervision. Be able to influence supplier behavior to meet PACCAR requirements. Ability to develop sourcing strategies and perform market research to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers. Experienced negotiator with demonstrated favorable results.
