Description

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor levels. Although candidates in all research areas will be considered, we are particularly interested in areas that synergize with our research strengths in biomedical imaging, biosensing, medical devices, regenerative medicine, spectroscopy of biological tissue in frequency and time domain, and biomaterials. Candidates should demonstrate previous success in collaborating across multiple engineering or scientific disciplines. Specifically, this position will focus on applications of biophotonics for cancer treatment and diagnostics as well as for photonics for microbiological control. The incoming candidates should demonstrate a translational approach to research and a commitment to education that is synergistically aligned with the department and the Texas A&M System. Early-career candidates must demonstrate strong potential to build and sustain an extramurally funded and translationally focused research program, while mid-career candidates must have a proven ability to do so as well as a plan to elevate their program with a transition to Texas A&M. In addition, senior candidates should possess proven leadership skills and an established reputation as a scholar. The successful applicants will be required to teach; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an independent, externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in biomedical engineering or a closely related engineering or science discipline.
