National Vision Director of Total Rewards in Duluth, Georgia

We are currently hiring a Director of Total Rewards to join our growing team!

The role will lead National Vision's Total Rewards strategy, finding meaningful ways to engage Associates and Doctors in ways that align with the organization's mission, vision, and values. This role works cross-functionally with leaders across the business to educate on trends & analysis. This role will also lead and develop a best-in-class team to ensure seamless executive of Compensation and Benefits strategies.

What Would You Do? The Specifics.

  • Responsible for overall Compensation and Benefits strategy, offerings, budget, and overall functional support for multiple business units including Retail Store Teams, Doctors, Manufacturing, and Corporate.

  • Leads and oversees the Compensation and Benefits teams, including approximately 10 business professionals and one Senior Manager. Coaches and develops team members providing performance feedback to allow them to grow their careers and contribute to the business in meaningful ways.

  • Stays connected to key business unit leadership and populations. Understands their priorities and ensures the Total Rewards strategy in place is impactful.

  • Ensures we have the right systems, tools, and procedures in place that are reliable and effective to ensure deliverables scale easily. Where needed, improves processes.

  • Ensures communication plans are designed and effectively administered.

  • Partners with Finance, Legal and IT Teams extensively to ensure compensation processes are forecasted and budgeted effectively.

  • Serves as the dedicated Executive Compensation expert. Analyzes, models, and communicates requested Executive Compensation data as needed for the Chief People Officer and other key Senior Leaders.

  • Leads Compensation Team members to through salary survey, annual increase project work, market research, and other scheduled compensation processes.

  • Leads Compensation Team in developing effective base pay and bonus strategies for multiple business units and diverse employment types.

  • Stays up to date on changes to FLSA, minimum wage, pay transparency, and other legal requirements that impact compensation. Ensures timely analysis, forecasting, and required changes are made.

  • Oversees the process of communicating Total Compensation.

  • Oversees the Incentive Pay Programs that are bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually based on pay program in place.

  • Leads Incentive Team through incentive calculation, payment, and reconciliation.

  • Develops and communicates analysis of incentive pay impact. Provides recommendations to leaders with business objectives in mind.

  • Develops effective communication strategies to ensure Associates and Doctors understand their compensation.

  • Leads the design, implementation, and administration of all equity offerings including RSU, ASPP, and Performance awards.

  • Works closely with the Equity Professional and vendor on all equity related processes.

  • Collaborates with key internal departments to coordinate all processes and events related to stock awards.

  • Oversees the design, implementation, and utilization of comprehensive health, wellness, and financial retirement benefits plans. Key programs include health, wellness, 401k, short term disability, long term disability programs.

  • Coaches and develops the team of benefits professionals.

  • Reviews metrics available for benefits utilization and functions, develop analysis and recommendations for leadership on benefits offerings.

  • Oversees the benefits budget, report spend effectively, communicate updates as needed.

  • Ensures associates and managers have access to the tools to effectively take paid time off and ensure offering is compelling way to recruit and retain.

  • Ensures that paid time off offerings that are compliant with local laws and are as competitive as possible given industry best practices.

  • Oversees the annual renewal process.

  • Fosters strong business relationships with vendors.

  • 3+ years Director Level Leadership role. (Preferred)

  • 10+ years Human Resources experience. (Preferred)

  • 6+ years 5+ years Benefits and/or Compensation experience. (Preferred)

Education

  • Four year college degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related discipline. (Required)

Licenses, Certifications, Professional Affiliations

  • CPP, CIBS (Preferred)

  • SPHR (Preferred)

Additional Skills

  • Extensive knowledge & first hand use of HRIS system for processing, importing, and other tasks. All system experience is relevant, UKG system preferred. 

  • Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal employment-related laws and regulations; in-depth knowledge of related laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including state and federal regulations surrounding FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA (ACA), ERISA, and IRS regulations. (Preferred)

  • Working knowledge and understanding of HR and compensation systems and platforms (e.g., UltiPro/UKG, Fidelity, etc.) (Preferred)
