MTF Tissue & Support Coordinator, 2nd Shift in Edison, New Jersey
Overview/Risks
The Tissue/Support Coordinator is responsible to support the team in the process of human skin, placentas, skin for burnand adipose, from the point of inventory through the reconciliation of the final product. The support is vital to theprocessing team to transport, log, and track tissue throughout the process locations. This position requires technician toaseptically pass tissue into an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certified cleanroom. In addition, theCoordinator will be responsible to work alone as well as in a team environment in the operations value chain in a 24/7operation. This position is responsible for supply of tissues to the process area, transport and log that tissue and samplesassociated with its processes, as well as supply the process technicians with equipment, and supplies.
Monday - Friday / 330pm -1130pm
Responsibilities
Reads, comprehends, and adheres to all appropriate standard operatingprocedures
Legibly and accurately completes written documentation of activities oncontrolled forms
Reads digital timers and or clocks and convert standard time to military time
Handles labels and packages all tissue accurately and according to standardoperating procedure
May prepare necessary tissue and environmental samples for testingaccording to standard operation procedures
Ensures waste is placed in the appropriate biological hazardous wastecontainers/bags and label and document according to procedure
May prepare chemicals in appropriate rations for processing activities andcleaning solutions
May clean and sanitize cleanrooms and equipment using chemicals including;peracetic acid and ethanol to ensure an aseptically controlled sterileenvironment
Attends internal and external training as assigned
Transfer tissue from/to storage & process areas
Maintain documentation of all tissue transfers and movement using manualpaper forms and computer software
Maintain documentation inventories of Forms
Make “slush” and deliver as needed to the designated process areas
Operate Cryogenic, Freeze-mill, and other laboratory equipment
Transfer chemical carboy containers to and from designated areas
Clean coolers & refrigerators as needed
Pass/Transfer supplies, equipment, etc., as needed into a certified cleanroom
Reconciliation and logging of tissue out of certified cleanroom to designatedquarantine area
Work closely with Team Leaders, Process Technicians, and EngineeringServices throughout the shift
Work closely with and communicate with oncoming/outgoing Tissue/SupportCoordinators at start/end of each shift; complete turnover log sheet
Print daily process schedules for tissues needed
Transfer/Log QA samples, water/swabs, transport solutions, FTP & SterilitySamples to QA
Assist and/or perform weekly/daily cleanings in certified cleanrooms
Prepare process documentation charts orderly into folders for QA review
Assists with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Years of Experience: 1 year Experience in one of the following: tissue banking, surgical technician, nursing or relatedmedical technology background, medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing, ISOclean 8 or less cleanroom/controlled environment.
Specialized Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Abilities:
Read and understand military time. Good documentation skills.
