Description:

Garden City engineering firm is looking for a Resident Engineer to join their team at their LaGuardia Airport job site.

You will play a crucial role in overseeing the fueling/pipeline construction project, ensuring its successful completion within scope, budget, and timeline.

Must have:

• Mechanical or Civil Engineering Degree.

• 5-10 years' experience/knowledge of project management and construction management

• EIT/FE and looking to get licensed in the near future.

• Experience with pump station, pipeline, fuel projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing engineering documents for design and contractor submittals, understanding their integration into the construction project.

• Coordinate construction activities and assist in resolving on-site technical issues.

• Identify and communicate changes in field conditions from the contract specifications, negotiating with the contractor as necessary.

Maintain compliance with safety standards, including OSHA 10 and 30 certifications.

• Prepare daily and summary reports using provided templates, documenting contractor activities and progress including photograph documentation.

• Possess knowledge of construction techniques such as cut and cover, trenching, concrete work, reinforcement emplacements, and large pipe installation (including welding and corrosion protection).

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure project success.

Work Environment:

• This job will be on-site at LaGuardia airport, primarily working out of the field office there.

• Backlog of projects so there is plenty of work available.

• This particular project could go for a few years.

Schedule:

• Hours are 7:00am-3:00pm, but there could be some work required outside standard hours depending on project needs.
