Western Alliance Bank Senior Principal Network Security Engineer in Grove City, Ohio

Job Title: Senior Principal Network Security Engineer Location: OH - Columbus What you'll do: The Senior Principal Network Security Engineer contributes to the strategic technical direction of network security infrastructure and services. They act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership, defining and delivering the engineering roadmap, driving continuous improvement and maturity. They have deep experience and understanding of Cybersecurity and risk management frameworks, bridging the gap between control objectives and control evidence. They are proven technical writers, creating, and maintaining architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and other support documentation for their functional areas. They collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture, presenting regularly to review boards. Participate in an on-call rotation and complete planned service-impacting activities outside of normal business hours in line with change management processes. Some travel may be required. What we are looking for: Responsibilities Define, develop & deliver the enterprise network security engineering roadmap. Technical writing of engineering processes and procedures, standards, and patterns. Plan, design, and mature network infrastructure, services, and processes to meet business needs. Deliver annual OKRs & KPIs for service availability, capacity, and performance management. Provide escalation-level support to our incident, problem, and change management processes. Collaborate with IT Governance, Risk, Compliance & Audit teams closely. Procure and evaluate bleeding-edge technology solutions and present recommendations. Lead complex IT projects e.g., greenfield/brownfield deployments, vendor to vendor migrations, mergers & acquisitions. Drive standardization, reduce needless complexity and challenge convention. Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation. Participation in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and maturity. Participation in operational support 24x7 on-call rotation as required. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. 15+ years IT engineering industry experience with evidence of ongoing professional development. Extensive experience supporting mission-critical, highly regulated networks within finance or healthcare. Extensive experience supporting security frameworks & controls for HIPPA, PCI, SOX, CIS, NIST, ISO, etc. Extensive experience in solution architecture design & tech-lead within IT project delivery. Expert knowledge of enterprise networking, IP routing, packet switching, data flow analysis, etc. In-depth experience with F5 BIG-IP Load balancers. In-depth experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Firepower firewalls & Cisco AnyConnect VPN. In-depth experience with Infoblox NIOS DDI managing enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM. In-depth experience with Cloudflare managing domains, dns records, WAF, and proxy. Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS public clouds. Extensive experience operating within an ITIL ITSM organization with a background using ServiceNow. Extensive experience with diagramming software such as Microsoft Visio and Lucidchart. Extensive experience with Zscaler ZIA and ZPA platforms. Extensive experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). Preferred Qualifications Strong leadership, organization, and mentorship skills with demonstratable experience. Professional-level certifications with F5 Networks, Cisco, Palo Alto, or Infoblox Experience using tools such as SolarWinds, Netbrain, LiveAction, ThousandEyes, AppDynamics, ELK, etc. Excellent communication skills, directly interfacing IT leadership, business stakeholders and technical teams.
