Reference #: 4346879 THE POSITION This highly responsible, detail-oriented position in the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) Project & Strategic Initiative Management Office serves as the Director of Enterprise Project Management.  Reporting to the PSERS Director of Governance and Strategic Initiatives, this director plays an integral role in leading a team tasked with planning and executing complex information, strategic initiatives, and technology projects in support of the board's adopted strategic plan.

This position supports agency leadership by both overseeing and leading the largest-scale strategic projects; demonstrating excellent written and oral communications; and leading a team tasked with managing concurrent complex information technology and high-priority strategic projects with a high degree of discernment and discretion.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK Within this role, you will direct the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) in planning and executing strategic enterprise projects in support of the agency's adopted strategic plan, in addition to developing all strategic project artifacts, including items such as charters, schedules, estimates, communication plans, change logs, decision logs, and more.

You will direct EPMO staff in executing complex information technology (IT) projects and ensuring balance amongst budget, timeline, and scope for all strategic initiatives.

The Director of Enterprise Project Management leads and manages the most complex and highly-sensitive strategic projects, both IT and otherwise.  You will maintain awareness of innovations in both the IT and broader project management sector for evaluation and potential integration within PSERS' project ecosystem.

Strong leadership skills are utilized to direct the integration of the enterprise risk management practices with strategic initiatives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, dependent upon operational and executive leadership requirements.  All teleworking must occur within Pennsylvania.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection in your Pennsylvania location.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six years of experience in leading IT projects and a bachelor's degree; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six years of experience in leading IT projects.
