Director, Marketing Strategy - KBNA

Work Mode: Hybrid

Location: Based in Kohler, WI (hybrid to Wisconsin-based associates).

ROLE: This role overall is accountable for developing a customer-centric KOHLER KBNA Brand/Marketing Strategy and Plan to Win over the next 3 years

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

  • Owns Consumer Journey Development in collaboration with cross-functional teams, for - Replace, Remodel, Build/Buy- with an integrated view of all product categories to inform GTM Audience strategy.

  • Leads strategic assessment across consumer, customer, category, and other economic/cultural context insights and its implication on Brand Strategy and Plan, annually.

  • Drives development of the annual marketing priorities, goals, and plan in collaboration with broader marketing, partnerships, creative, insights, global brand strategy, and media teams.

  • Leads strategic brand/marketing initiatives like Brand W.I.G development and bi-annual Brand/Marketing Strategic Business Plan development.

  • Develops rolling 3-yr top stories Product + Promise pipeline in collaboration with category management, to inform Annual Marketing Plan.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

NORTH AMERICA BRAND/MARKETING STRATEGY:

  • Collaborates with all Insights & Analytics teams across the organization to derive key insights and implications for KBNA brand/business to provide a data backed foundation for marketing strategy, goal setting, innovation pipelining/top stories, GTM, campaigns, and measurement.

  • Manages monthly brand strategy scorecard to evaluate quarterly results and leverage key learnings for near- and long-term planning.

  • Leads Marketing Consumer Insights Manager.

  • Owns Consumer Journey Development for - Replace, Remodel, Build/Buy- with an integrated view of all product categories to inform GTM Audience strategy and drives education & adoption across brand/marketing managers with a goal to implement across all campaigns / GTM programs.

  • Works collaboratively with Category Management teams to identify a rolling pipeline of top innovation stories, updated annually, that drive long term brand strategy and objectives.

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team (including Category Management, Sales, Finance, Product Supply, Advertising, Global brand, Insights) to help develop future product design, innovation plans, and strategy for the brand's success.

  • Deliver/Work on long-term strategic projects to deliver brand/business strategies informed by consumer and market insights.

  • Actively participates in cross-functional brainstorming sessions to develop cut through narratives and blue-sky ideas that can change the conversation around our brands.

  • Leverages customer insights, social listening, interior/design/fashion/beauty/culture trends to develop an understanding of what is most relevant to our audiences; shares it generously with teams.

  • Provides competitive input and recommends strategies accordingly.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Supervisory Relationships:

  • Reports to the Sr. Director, Brand Marketing, KBNA

Organization Relationships:

  • Collaborates with directors and managers across: Brand Marketing, Brand Experience, Retail Media, DTC Marketing, Beacon Creative, Global Brand Strategy/Beacon Strategy, Performance Marketing, Category Strategy, Sales, Direct to Consumer sales to build trust, gain alignment in development of marketing strategy and annual media plan.

External Business Relationships:

  • Consultants.

  • Customers, Trade shows, exhibits, seminars, and marketing conferences.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree. MBA in Marketing strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of diverse marketing experience, preferably with lifestyle or consumer goods brands.

  • Proven trained in classical brand strategy development, strategic business planning, and long-term vision + goal setting.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Able to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations to optimize marketing strategies and creative briefs.

  • Strong presentation skills to top C-Level leadership.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience in influencing and getting results in a highly matrixed environment, exposure to a global brand-building matrixed organizations, and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of organization.

TRAVEL

  • Travel to trade shows, customer visits and training as needed, approximately 20%.

The salary range for this position is $148,250 - $191,850. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
