Sr. Project Manager, Architecture & Interior Design

Work Mode: Hybrid

Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of construction projects within Kohler’s Architecture and Interior Design department. Under the direction of the manager and in collaboration with department associates, the Senior Project Manager will support a range of project types, with a primary focus on retail environments. The Senior Project Manager will assure compliance with regulations, Kohler Company standards and customer-defined project goals and objectives. They will participate and contribute to the development of a project’s scope and content, and manage the implementation, cost, schedule and quality of the facility design and construction.

Specific Responsibilities

•Assist with the development of project design scope definitions, programming, objectives, and requirements.

•Lead project teams through design tasks across multiple disciplines and business units. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers, team members, and vendors.

•Represent Kohler Co. in directing external resources including technical consultants, and contractors.

•Create and manage project schedule and budget to align with business goals and design requirements.

•Support assigned projects through the preparation of bid documents, reviewing contractor bids, assessing contractor qualifications, and facilitating the contractor and vendor selection process.

•Coordinate and lead weekly project team and construction meetings as required, and provide timely, consistent meeting notes.

•Manage the implementation phase on assigned projects by tracking orders and lead times, monitoring quality, reviewing compliance with construction documents and quality standards, and obtaining required approvals as necessary.

•Collaborate and assist project teams, including other A&ID associates, business team members, and purchasing associates to meet project timeline, budget, and scope expectations.

•Prioritize multiple tasks while working on several projects simultaneously.

•Develop strong brand and product knowledge across the Kohler Company family of brands.

•Directs and leads projects as assigned. Receives general guidance and support from supervisor, and exercises discretion when making decisions. Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload and manage deadlines.

•Maintains a professional level of communication with strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Possesses a high degree of integrity, initiative, honesty, and candor.

•Provides a high level of customer service. Fosters, builds, and develops relationships across disciplines and teams. Desires effective collaboration in achieving project success.

•Develops ability to anticipate, recognize and resolve potential conflicts. Intervenes and takes action to resolve issues before the project and team are adversely affected.

•Demonstrates self-awareness and ability to continuously improve. Is accepting feedback and input, while willing to provide valuable feedback to other associates and the design team.

Skills/Requirements

• Position requires a 2 or 4-year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Position requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in the field of facility design, construction and/or project management.

• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Required: Expertise and proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, and related software.

• Preferred: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, and AutoCAD software.

• Required: Knowledge of interior finishes, building systems, construction details and industry nomenclature and standards, as well as a general understanding of building code requirements.

Travel

Limited domestic travel required, approximately 10-20%.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $83,300 - $105,200. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
