Jackson National Life Insurance Company Operations Change Management Consultant in Lansing, Michigan

Job Purpose

The Operations Change Management Consultant oversees and evaluates operational change events, serving as a sponsor of change management practices that effectively drive faster adoption and greater utilization of changes within Operations. The Consultant familiarizes themselves with changes in business processes, systems and technology, corporate/market initiatives, and organizational structures that impact daily work for Operations associates and develops change management strategies and processes that ensure smooth transitions, maximize adoption, and minimize risk and resistance. This role provides change management methodologies, communication planning, organizational readiness assessments, and stakeholder analyses to Operations teams implementing change scaled to the scope and impact of the change.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with internal teams to understand business requirements and design and implement change management policies and plans that maximize associate adoption and minimize resistance.

  • Collaborates with inter-departmental teams to ensure the departmental strategy aligns with the broader vision, providing context for stakeholders on how they impact the Company's overall success.

  • Continually assesses the impact of change throughout the organization and prepares change management strategies tailored to the stakeholders’ needs.

  • Creates benchmarks to measure the success of change management practices.

  • Consults with applicable teams to create organizational change management deliverables, such as communications, FAQs, and trainings as needed.

  • Ensures change management activities are aligned with the project timeline if applicable.

  • Applies change management principles to effectively change the organizational culture, modernize specific functions, redesign the organizational structure, etc.

  • Analyzes organization projects to identify challenges and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Develops standard communication and training strategies to ensure a smooth adoption, including appropriate mechanisms for measuring effectiveness.

  • Advises project teams to ensure change management activities are integrated into their plans.

  • Completes change management assessments (e.g., risk, strategic alignment, capacity, etc.).

  • Identifies and implements proactive strategies to effectively navigate anticipated resistance to change activity.

  • Models industry best practices for Change Management, adjusting to Jackson needs while participating and engaging in internal forums to establish and modify Jackson standards and best practices.

  • Effective collaboration skills and ability to challenge the status quo at all levels of leadership.

  • Ability to develop communication, change management, and/or training plans and materials and oversee or monitor their execution to ensure adoption and minimal disruption of normal business operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Change Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Communication, Learning and Development, or a related field of study required.

3+ years of experience supporting organizational change management initiatives (communications, trainings, change readiness assessments, impact analyses, stakeholder management, leadership alignment, etc.) required.

Certificate in Change Management preferred.
