Our forecast work includes everything from 5-minute real time forecast systems for electric grid operation to forecasts that extend as far as 30-year out to support long-term electric load capacity planning. Working with a team of energy forecasting experts, you will help us with providing data analysis, predictive analytics/statistical modelling, training, and presentations to support a global client base. As part of the forecast team, you will help support our real-time grid-operation forecasting applications and are other forecasting products. You will also help develop long-term sales, revenue, and demand forecasts to support our clients' financial and resource planning requirements. This work will involve developing statistical models, analyzing historical sales trends, addressing the electric and gas impact of economic activity, energy efficiency, climate change, and market penetration of new technologies such as roof-top solar generation and electric vehicles. In this position you will directly interact with our clients to address their modeling and software issues, and ultimately present forecast results to our clients and through forecasting workshops and conferences. Duties & Responsibilities As a Forecast Consultant you will: Develop business leads and project proposals. Manage and work on forecasting projects. Develop forecast model specifications using Itron's time-series modeling software. Present forecasts and related analysis and training to customers and stakeholders. Contribute to Itron thought leadership through blogs and webinars Required Skills & Experience Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), including professional presentation creation and delivery. Significant experience completing financial forecasts for annual operating plans, experience completing long-term forecasts for resource planning, and/or experience with modeling and monitoring of short-term forecasts for daily operations. Significant experience with Itron modeling tools (MetrixND, MetrixLT). Experience using other statistical modeling tools is a plus (MatLab, R, Python, SAS, etc.). Experience presenting forecasts to utility management, public utility commissions, and other stakeholders. Education: Bachelor's degree in economics, Statistics, or related technical field Travel: 1-10% Preferred Skills & Experience Advanced degree in economics or related technical field, or equivalent job experience. Knowledge of econometrics, statistics, calculus, and data science modeling methods. Programming skills and knowledge of R&D processes is a plus.
