Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Manager to be based out of our Lima office, with some travel in Peru.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee educational projects from site due diligence, campus planning, conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience managing the design, has a background in Educational Infrastructure for all the construction phases and recommended operation & Maintenance experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery for Educationals Infrastructure projects in Latin America, in collaboration with design, permitting, procurement and construction technical leads / subject matter experts.

  • Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (new and existing) and AECOM project teams.

  • Management, oversee, and perform peer review and quality checks in line with client and AECOM standards.

  • Oversee and maintain responsibility for project basis of design and localization process.

  • Establish and oversee a process to detect, track and resolve scope changes, errors, or inconsistencies throughout the design process.

  • Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders.

  • Manage and grow AECOM’s design team, fostering a sense of comradery, collective ownership, and collaboration.

  • Proactively manage and communicate change throughout the project both within AECOM and to our clients.

  • Identify problems early and develop creative solutions.

  • Proactively communicate with all stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Develop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change design projects

  • Responsible for management of project costs, risk, communications, procurement, and stakeholders.

  • Provide full Project Management duties to AECOM clients in accordance with AECOM’s project Delivery System (PDS).

  • Oversee preparation of project administration documents including design status updates, action item/risk tracker, meeting minutes and quality reports.

  • Approach to all projects requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills, and ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants.

  • Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.

  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.

  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned.

  • Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.

  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).

  • Manages more complex clients and projects.

  • Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.

  • Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.

  • Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience in design and/or project management.

  • Registered Professional Engineer or Architect.

  • Active or recent leadership in Educationals Infrastructure Projects and mission-critical trade organization.

  • Experience in educationals Infrastructure design management & engineering.

  • Fluent English required.

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or Educational Infrastructure.

  • Available to travel or moving due to a change of residence.

  • Excellent communication (written/oral).

  • Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations and with minimal oversight.

  • Team leadership skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
