Position: Senior Network Engineer

Location: Headquarters: Medford, OR (Remote position, may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.)

Duties:

  • Analyze network infrastructure to assess and verify enterprise security and provide detailed solutions and technical support for network connectivity for on premises data centers and interoperability of cloud related connectivity solutions.

  • Responsible for network architecture and design; manage network security and quality resolution procedures and support for WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and internal systems, cloud and network infrastructure

  • Support day-to-day network for business operations; perform network maintenance, upgrades and refreshes; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.

  • Coordinate and define enterprise network requirements (design and subnetting architecture, configure, install) to determine the scope and objectives of proposed configurations.

  • Oversee analysis of company and third-party vendor security and user requirements, to evaluate network configuration.

  • Develop and implement resilient network backup and recovery engineering protocols and implementation plans including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations to accommodate network growth, security and enhancements.

  • Evaluate and monitor network devices to provide issue resolution and reporting metrics.

  • Ensure network and systems are stable, secure and resilient to provide maximum security and configure/troubleshoot network component, routers, switches, and other network equipment.

  • Analyze data traffic patterns within network infrastructure to detect operational problems and recommend improvements.

  • Lead technical research and development for continued innovation and improvement and work with internal and external software and systems engineering teams to understand and implement technical requirements

  • Provide network security by configuring routers, switches.

  • Up to 5% domestic travel, required to visit data centers and acquisition sites.

  • Remote work from home permitted with occasional travel to worksite.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems Security, Computer Science, Information & Communication Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or closely related field required, (foreign equivalent accepted); and

Experience: Four years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar position.

Education: Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems Security, Computer Science, Information & Communication Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or closely related field required, (foreign equivalent accepted); and

Experience: Two years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar position.

Skills/Requirements:

Two years’ experience:

  • Working with design and implementation of data networking, routing, switching, subnetting, and network segmenting with large scale enterprise network

  • Working with network infrastructure and topology, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS/ DHCP, DMVPN, VPN and Network Monitoring tools and troubleshooting WAN circuits

  • Working with Cisco switches and routers

  • Troubleshooting complex issues related to hardware, L3/L2 deployment, application behaviors and TCP stack.

  • Working with routing and switching technologies such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, or Spanning Tree

  • Working collaboratively with Network Architects, Project Managers, Systems Administrators, and Information Security Administrators

  • Working in Data Centers

  • Working with Cisco ACS or ISE for implementation and administration of security AAA policies including 802.1x RADIUS policy sets and working with Cisco Wireless Access points or networks, or LAN Controllers
