Environmental Data Analyst (London, Hybrid)

This role supports our Climate & Environment program with a focus on building out the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories for software subsidiaries under the Schneider Electric Group. This role is responsible for collecting, calculating, analyzing, and interpreting data related to environmental initiatives. The role will also support target-setting processes and ongoing data management, working closely with the existing AVEVA team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • GHG Data Collection and Compilation: Gather and compile GHG data from various sources, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reliability of sustainability data.

  • GHG Data Analysis: Utilize statistical methods and data analysis tools to interpret trends, patterns, and anomalies in sustainability data. Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.

  • Reporting and Visualization: Develop clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate sustainability performance metrics to stakeholders.

  • Performance Measurement: Support the entities on key projects, providing data insights to develop their net-zero program and sustainability initiatives. Evaluate and report on the progress of sustainability initiatives against established targets.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Support the entities in complying with sustainability reporting standards and guidelines.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional/cross-company teams, including sustainability, operations, finance, and IT, for collaborative data analysis. Manage consulting support to drive materiality and baseline emissions data for relevant business entities, ensuring comprehensive and accurate sustainability reporting.

  • Adaptability and Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Demonstrate adaptability by swiftly learning and navigating various software applications and remaining open to evolving processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of work experience in environmental sustainability with proven outcomes is desirable.

  • Knowledge of climate and environmental issues, including key corporate standards (GHG Protocol, SBTi Net-Zero Corporate Standard).

  • Demonstrable experience in data analysis, preferably in the context of sustainability or environmental management.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and visualization software (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, R, SQL, Tableau).

  • Project management skills and preferably prior experience in a corporate environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
