We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager who will be responsible for developing new business with merchants. The Senior Business Development Manager will identify and execute new deals with large Strategic e-commerce merchants and expand the Amazon Pay merchant base through driving adoption of Amazon Pay.

This role will be responsible for new business end-to-end, including understanding market dynamics, evaluating new merchant opportunities, conducting merchant outreach, negotiating term sheets and agreements and driving to execution. This role will also work across Amazon to utilize other products and services to create new and powerful value propositions for merchants.

The position requires someone who can work autonomously in a fast paced, highly demanding and ambiguous environment.

Successful candidates need to possess great business judgement, with a track record of strong new business sales delivery and relationship management along with deep analytical acumen.

Key job responsibilities

  • Be responsible for building relationships with large e-commerce merchants at the most senior levels.

  • Manage complex contract negotiations and coordinate functional teams to ensure highest integration standards

  • Successfully prioritize the needs of merchant clients in a manner that balances merchant client needs and internal priorities.

  • Explore new market segment opportunities and identify prospects that benefit from Amazon Pay.

  • Partner with internal teams and other Amazon services teams to align programs and initiatives to drive growth.

  • Partner closely with internal and external cross-functional teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.

  • Drive content for internal business communications highlighting various initiatives, successes, and platform improvement opportunities through voice of the merchant.

  • Be accountable for driving, measuring, and reporting on key inputs and outputs.

  • Conduct deep dive analysis on issues affecting the merchant categories and establish a periodic reviews that addresses key business issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience positioning and selling innovative solutions to new and existing customers and market segments

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience positioning and selling innovative solutions to new customers and market segments ideally in e-commerce, payments or retail technology

  • Knowledge of payments industry and solutions or equivalent experience

  • Experience identifying industry trends and improving processes in large-scale technology sales

  • Experience exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach
