Job Description:

APPOINTMENT: February 1, 2024

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director of Annual Giving works collaboratively with the Director of Annual Giving in creating, managing and implementing a successful and comprehensive annual giving program. The Assistant Director coordinates and manages projects within the annual giving program including direct response marketing, crowdfunding and telephone-based fundraising to rains funds for University priorities.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to access information via computer data systems (alumni databases) as well as operate in a Microsoft Office environment (excel, word, power point, etc.).
  • 1-3 years of fundraising experience or related experience in communications and marketing.
  • Ability to effectively plan, implement and manage multiple priorities and programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with advancement staff and other campus partners as well as develop a rapport with a wide variety of donors, alumni, potential donors and student callers.
  • Ability to work with university advancement data bases and to enter data into the system.
  • Ability to explain and discuss academic programs within the University to prospective donors as well as with members of the academic community.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills along with organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to assume responsibility for completing projects efficiently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse campus community.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to create new strategies to achieve fundraising goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with telephone fundraising and/or telephone fundraising management.
  • Ability to use data and statistical forecasting to develop new initiatives and strategies.
  • Knowledge of and experience with various social media platforms in a professional setting.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
