We are seeking a highly motivated report analyst to join the Optum People Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to provide insights and support our People Team leaders in providing analyses and insights that drive our priorities. As a Senior Report Analyst, you will be an experienced professional who will collaborate with the team to translate business objectives and challenges into analytics projects, combine data from multiple sources, build/enhance data visualization dashboards, and deliver analytics and reporting of key business trends to our business partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a working knowledge of people data assets to become a trusted partner in consulting on when/how to use data/dashboards to answer different types of questions

  • Produce new data assets when necessary to help answer specific analysis questions by combining disparate data together

  • Design, build, and optimize existing dashboards, creating compelling visual representations of data to enable self-service and clear presentation of key takeaways

  • Manipulate and query structured data to discover meaningful patterns and trends in employee data

  • Proactively engage stakeholders to gain business intimacy for proactive insights

  • Collaborate with other members of people analytics to ensure successful implementation of analytics projects

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience using conceptual data analytics to formulate hypotheses, determine assumptions to test, and interpret data/results

  • 3+ years of work experience analyzing and interpreting data to provide insights

  • 3+ years of consulting experience with customers and influencing leaders

  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to manipulate Excel to utilize mathematical formulas, produce pivot tables, V-lookups and graphs/charts

  • Data visualization expertise using tools such as Domo, Power BI, and/or Tableau
