SUMMARY Directs visual and electronic, electrical and mechanical inspection and testing of parts and products. Develops and implements goals and objectives for in-process tests and controls to meet and maintain minimum defect levels while improving overall quality and customer satisfaction levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops, plans and implements short and long term quality objectives, goals and measurements. Manages ISO and assigned governmental and divisional quality policies, programs, plans, procedures and practices consistently and accurately. Audits work policies, practices, processes, records and documentation for compliance and makes corrections as required. Ensures compliance with governmental regulations. Executes changes in methods, sampling techniques and control procedures and processes to ensure maximum quality for cost. Coordinates with other departments, including operations, engineering, HR, accounting and sales to implement approved programs. Prepares budgets, develops estimates of personnel needs and develops work methods to accomplish assigned work within approved budgets. Takes corrective action as required. Directs the accurate and timely preparation of error and/or salvage reports. Makes recommendations to minimize such errors. Actively participates in business and strategic planning. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Broad technical and analytical engineering and quality experience as applied to product, manufacturing and process/repair development as typical evidenced by completion of an engineering degree, accreditation as a quality engineer and at least 5 years practical experience. In depth understanding of business administrative functions including accounting and human resources. Minimum 3 years management/supervisory experience
