Job Summary and Qualifications

The Magnet Program Director is responsible for coordinating activities required to attain and maintain ANCC Magnet status. This includes, but not limited to, providing education to nurses about Magnet Recognition, coordination and facilitation of any related project teams, and serving as a resource for Shared Governance Councils. Coordinates assessment of Magnet gap analysis, develops and submits all required applications for Magnet Recognition and Re-designation, verifying that all requirements are met, and designs and implements a process to maintain Magnet performance requirements in anticipation of future re-application for Magnet Status. Facilitates and oversees the preparation of all Magnet documentation, policies, and informational sessions relative to maintain magnet status for Mercy Hospital. Oversees collection and submission of key nursing sensitive outcome indicators and develops quarterly and annual reports for submission to the ANCC Magnet office, and Mercy Hospital executive nursing leadership.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing

• Minimum 3 years of experience managing Magnet Designation

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.
