Dorsey is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Labor & Employment department in our Minneapolis office. This is an excellent opportunity for a non-traditional attorney, or an attorney who does not presently want to pursue a partner-track role, to join one of Minnesota s premier firms. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on complex, often cutting-edge issues, with a priority on providing timely and pragmatic legal advice. The successful candidate will be expected to handle the following types of tasks with little supervision: - Advise and counsel sophisticated employers on a variety of employment and human resources related issues - Draft the full range of employment-related agreements - Conduct audits and investigations - Conduct legal research and draft research memoranda - Opportunities for work on litigated matters Qualified candidates will have: - Eight or more years of employment litigation and/or counseling experience in a law firm setting or in-house counsel role - An ownership mentality and strong client service skills - A team-based approach to the practice of law - A commitment to personal practice development - Excellent analytical and writing skills - Excellent verbal communication skills Admission to the Minnesota bar is required. Additional bar admissions in the upper Midwest (Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) or California are a plus.
