JOB DESCRIPTION
SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST ASSISTANT
Purpose: To assist School Psychologist in record keeping and compilation of
information for the efficient completion of reports.
Responsible to: Director of Special Education
Payment rate: According to Classified Salary Schedule
Qualifications:
1. College degree in psychology, education or related field preferred.
2. Minimum of a bachelorss degree in related field and/or work experience.
3. Must be able to work in a team situation, follow directions, type, use word processing, be
attentive to detail, keep accurate records, and maintain confidentiality.
Essential Functions:
1. Keep a current record of weekly evaluation status reports and attend weekly meetings.
2. Carries out the responsibilities of the position as directed by school psychologist.
3. Responsible for classroom observations and write-ups as requested by school
psychologists.
4. Filing, copying, typing and miscellaneous duties as requested.
5. Assists in the gathering of information necessary for reports.
6. Administers assessments as trained by school psychologist.
7. Assist with PBS classroom as requested.
8. Travel among buildings as requested to perform assigned tasks.
9. Scoring test results as requested by school psychologist.
10. Schedule appointments and meetings as requested.
11. Maintain the calendar for evaluations, meetings, due dates, ect.
General Responsibilities:
1. Assists with reports and files as requested
2. Maintain records as required
3. Other duties as assigned
4. Attend in services as requested, complete 20 hours of training/informational sessions as
set forth by the Kansas Department of Education.
5. Demonstrate mobility, agility, and dexterity in moving from place to place and with
working with students in various circumstances. Demonstrate the ability to focus on
students and students activities. Has the dexterity to manually move, lift, pull or push
objects of not more than 25 pounds.
6. Work to accomplish the goals and policies of the school district
7. Follows building policies and procedures
8. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job and related services.
9. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

10. Must perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
11. Takes questions or concerns about assignment through appropriate chain of command for
answers.
12. Completes job accurately and in a timely manner.
13. Displays dependability and punctuality in attendance.
Term of Employment: At will
Working Conditions: Moderate environmental conditions and noise levels. May be required to
wear protective garments and/or gloves for exposure to control circumstances.
Evaluation: Performance effectiveness will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of
Education Policy
