This position will cover the South Region, TVA’s service territory in North Alabama. This role will require frequent travel and the ability to be in person at customer sites.

This position will be filled as Specialist, Strategy, Marketing and Support III or Energy Services Consultant. Position Purpose

Serves as TVA’s local regional representative and key contact for TVA EnergyRight suite of programs and services with local power companies (LPCs), directly served, key regional stakeholders, and community groups. Share responsibility to ensure LPCs, directly served, and communities value TVA as their trusted energy advisor and solutions provider. Strengthens long-term partnerships through engagement with EnergyRight programs and services. Develops strong knowledge of individual LPC’s local market and community dynamics. Develops strategic marketing and EnergyRight program plans with LPCs and communities to address local needs. Partners with LPCs in promoting and delivering EnergyRight programs and services to the many cities and communities within the Tennessee Valley ensuring that residential, commercial and industrial customers’ needs are met and that all are served on a timely, equal and fair basis. Coordinates the execution of EnergyRight programs and services while uplifting TVA and EnergyRight brand and increasing co-branding opportunities. Represents TVA as the face of all EnergyRight programs and services in the communities. Supports the Regional Relations Leadership Team in the development of TVA’s regional engagement plans. Custom fits EnergyRight programs and services with individual LPCs. Communicates, sells and obtains buy-in on EnergyRight programs and services. Communicates and promotes TVA’s message and the value of the public power model to multiple external communities, public and private associations, as well as to the public.Coordinates and works closely with the Regional Relations team and External Relations support team in order to ensure a unified voice and holistic approach to serving the needs of LPCs, direct served, stakeholders and communities across the Valley.

Principal Accountabilities

Serves as TVA’s key contact in the region on all TVA EnergyRight programs and services.

  1. Maintains a strong working knowledge of all CES programs and services and is able to present, promote and explain, coordinate and deliver programs and services.

  2. Evaluates and monitors LPC business plans and strategies, local market dynamics and community needs, and determines which EnergyRight programs and services best meet their strategies and needs.

  3. Maintains strong working relationships at all levels of the LPC and with key regional stakeholders to make EnergyRight programs and services successful (Executive Management, Member Services, Key Accounts, Communications, Engineering, Finanical, etc.)

  4. Markets, communicates, and promotes EnergyRight programs and services to LPCs and key regional stakeholders to obtain their buy-in and understanding of programs.

  5. Positions TVA as the trusted energy advisor and solutions provider to LPC; positions TVA and LPCs as trusted energy advisor and solutions provider to the communities.

  6. Develops LPC specific strategic engagement plans and business strategies and implements marketing initiatives to best serve and deliver EnergyRight programs and services to the LPCs and their communities. Ensures program alignment with the program design team.

  7. Promotes energy efficiency, electrification, demand response, innovation, and other co-branding opportunities and events to LPCs and communities.

  8. Seeks out opportunities to uplift TVA and EnergyRight brand in the local communities in partnership with LPCs.

  9. Serves as the face of EnergyRight programs and services to the local communities, civic organizations, and community action agencies.

  10. Identifies and promotes social media and storytelling opportunites with LPCs to increase brand awareness.

  11. Communicates and coordinates closely with TVA Region Team members, including Regional VP, Customer Relations Director, Customer Relations Manager, Community Relations Director and staff, and ES&P Director/Regional Sr. Manager to present a cohensive TVA team in the region.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education— Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, business-related, or other discipline with demonstrated sales and customer relationship experience.

    Experience— Eight years or more experience in marketing and sales. Knowledge of current TVA products and their applicability to the marketplace is desirable. Knowledge of TVA, LPCs, and the utility industry is preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead groups, give effective presentations, and to develop and establish communications with top level customer executives. Successful previous experience working with customers is required.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities— Must possess well-developed skills in interpersonal relations, negotiations, and oral and written communications. Incumbent must have demonstrated ability in leadership, sound judment and decision-making. The following competencies critical to successful performance of this position: leadership, customer service orientation, problem solving, judgment/decision making, business orientation, adaptability, planning and follow-up, relationship building, written and oral communications, presentation skills, strategic thinking, teamwork, negotiating, and knowledge of rates and the electric utility industry and TVA customers. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
