Summary About the Position: You will serve as Deputy to the Chief, Engineering and Construction Division with responsibility to fully participate with the Division Chief in the management and long-range planning of the engineering functions of the Division. The Engineering and Construction Division is composed of engineering and construction functions working together in support of the District's Civil Works Program and significant support to other districts, and other Federal and non-Federal agencies. Responsibilities Serve as Deputy to the Chief, Engineering and Construction Division with responsibility to fully participate with Division Chief in the management and long-range planning of engineering functions. Act as consultant and advisor to the District Engineer and Chiefs of other technical elements on all engineering matters and represents the Division Chief at conferences. Make the initial division level review of programs, technical reports, studies, plans specification, designs, estimates, and correspondence submitted by subordinates to determine conformity and consistency with policy and procedures. Manage construction, engineering and design activities responsible for water resource management within the district boundaries through subordinate organizational elements. Directly supervises subordinate responsible for overall administrative program policy and consistency in the Division. Exercise position management responsibilities, assuring subordinates job descriptions are current and accurate.
